Shake, Shimmy & Shop
This year on Saturday June 8th, 2024, from 11 am to 4 pm, join the Mid Island Belly Dancers for a day of free performances, mini-workshops, and shopping for visitors of all ages.
Hosted at St. Andrew’s Church Hall (315 Fitzwilliam Street in Nanaimo), visitors can come anytime throughout the day to enjoy music, dance, and enter to win door prizes while shopping for local and imported costumes, clothing, jewelry and accessories.
Entry is just $5, and children under 12 are free.
This event is a fundraiser for CWAVS and we will be attending the events as volunteers, so come say hello!

The RentSmart Certificate Course Starts May 9th!
The Homelessness Prevention Program at CWAVS is offering the RentSmart Certificate course starting May 9th. The RentSmart Certificate builds a combination of skills, knowledge and confidence in tenants through the RentSmart program. This certificate is also recognized by many housing providers, including BC Housing.

Join CWAVS for an incredible walking series. Connect with others while exploring the healing properties of enjoying nature. These walks will be led by CBVS counsellor, Carli.
Participants don’t need to commit to any number of walks, just register for the ones you want to attend! CWAVS can offer limited transportation, but if that transportation has reached capacity, additional participants are more than welcome to meet the group at the hike location.

RentSmart Certificate Course
RentSmart Certificate course is designed to help you learn important skills to build your knowledge and confidence to find and keep housing.
