Why Give?
With your help, we can make an impact toward ending violence in our community.
This Giving Tuesday, we are asking for community support to help increase the capacity of our Stopping the Violence Counselling Program. Your pledge of support ensures we can offer more counsellors, group sessions, and resource materials to women in need of finding their forward after abuse and trauma. Last year, we served hundreds of women in the STV counselling program, but we have an average waiting time of 18 months. With your help, we can offer more counselling services and decrease waiting periods. No donation amount goes unnoticed as your donation's impact is DOUBLED! The Garden House Foundation and Royal LePage Shelter Foundation have partnered with CWAVS this year, promising to match community donations dollar-for-dollar until we reach our goal of $18,000.
Thank you for supporting the work we do.
Sincerely,
The CWAVS Team

Reasons to Give
CWAVS started as a small group of women in the 1970s who wanted to help other women in need. CWAVS’ 1970s crisis hotline has grown into a community organization that serves Cowichan and beyond with over 26 programs. Our Raven’s Nest Child and Youth Advocacy Centre is the only CYAC north of the Malahat and Gulf Islands, and we are continuing to expand our education programs, counselling, and housing services as well as programs for families and men/boys.
A donation to CWAVS is a contribution to a long-standing growing community support system for the most vulnerable people in need. A donation to CWAVS is a step toward reaching a community where no one is left behind.
